Philip Vidal, VP of Operations

Philip Vidal was recently appointed Vice President of Operations in February 2011, though he is no stranger to Prohotel International. Philip joined Prohotel in 2007 as General Manager of Esencia Estate in the Riviera Maya. In his current position, he is responsible for overseeing operations of all Prohotel managed properties, including Pico Bonito in La Ceiba, Honduras, Guaycura Boutique Hotel & Spa in Todos Santos, Mexico, Esencia Estate in Riviera Maya, Mexico, and Casa Bonita Tropical Lodge in Dominican Republic. He oversees all operational functions, including hiring & management of hotel staff, budgeting & financial management, creating & enforcing business objectives & goals, managing projects & renovations and special emphasis on details and guest attention while maintaining each hotel’s unique personality.

With a vast background in the hospitality industry, Philip has various achievements and is experienced in operating small luxury hotels in resort destinations. Over the four years as General Manager of Esencia, he has considerably reduced Esencia’s operational costs and increased guest consumption per occupied room. Furthermore, he has improved guest satisfaction and the percentage of repeat guests. Philip has also worked to develop employees and transition them into managerial positions for other Prohotel managed hotels.

Prior to working at Prohotel, Philip served as General Manager of Bel-Air Puerto Vallarta, Bel-Air Costa Careyes and The Tamarindo in Costa Alegre on the Mexican Pacific coast. Philip also served as Managing Director of Hotel Royal Pedregal in Mexico City, repositioning the hotel by introducing new services and quality standards.

Philip Vidal resides in Mexico and is fluent in English, Spanish and French.
