In 2000, Alberto Remirez Perez joined Prohotel International as Vice President of Business Development, where he oversees operations, administration and the finance department. An instrumental figure in the creation and development of Ikal del Mar on Mexico’s Riviera Maya, he also has a critical role with new properties, including concept development, financial planning, pre opening construction and operations.
Alberto is also owner of the Holiday Inn East in Mexico City where, since 1995, he has overseen daily operations. In this time, his aggressive sales strategies have resulted in increased hotel occupancy from 35% to 82% and more than tripled hotel revenues. He has been involved in every aspect of the Holiday Inn East including food and beverage, reservations, promotions and has created and implemented employee motivational programs.
Alberto has held positions in Mexico City with Mexico International Business S.A de C.V. as Chief Executive Officer and Industrias Nacobre S.A. de C.V. as Productivity and Export Manager for the same company.
Alberto received a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the Industrial Engineering Universidad Ibero Americana A.C. in Mexico City and a Master of Business Administration from Instituto Panamericano de Alta Direccion de Empresas IPADE, also in Mexico City. Alberto lives in Cancun, Mexico and is fluent in Spanish and English.
