May 3, 2011 (La Ceiba, Honduras) Prohotel International today announced that the company will operate and manage The Lodge at Pico Bonito, a 22-room luxury lodge in La Ceiba, Honduras. Prohotel, who previously did marketing for the hotel, signed a five-year management contract and plans to reposition The Lodge in the upscale market.
Beginning May 1st Prohotel will manage all day-to-day activities for the hotel from reservations to operations. The company has hired Marcela Ochoa as General Manager for the hotel. Ochoa brings over 20 years of experience in sales development, marketing and hotel management with a successful track record. She most recently worked in Regional Sales & Marketing (Canada) for Hacienda Tres Rios, a high-end all-inclusive luxury resort in the Riviera Maya. Prior to working for Hacienda Tres Rio, Ochoa was the General Manager of Casa Mexicana, a boutique hotel in downtown Cozumel.

February 24, 2011 (Houston, Texas) Prohotel International today announced the appointment of Philip Vidal as Vice President of Operations. In his new role, Vidal is responsible for overseeing operations of all Prohotel managed properties, including Pico Bonito in La Cieba, Honduras, Guaycura Boutique Hotel & Spa in Todos Santos, Mexico, Esencia Estate in Riviera Maya, Mexico, and Casa Bonita Tropical Lodge in Dominican Republic. He will oversee all operational functions, including hiring & management of hotel staff, budgeting & financial management, creating & enforcing business objectives & goals, and managing projects & renovations among other duties. Vidal will continue as the General Manager of Esencia Estate during his transition, where he will hand over his current day to day duties to his second in command. As the Vice President of Operations for Prohotel he will still oversee Esencia among the other properties.
A new hotel has risen in the picturesque art town of Todos Santos, just one hour north of the upscale tourist town of Cabo San Lucas.
