Nestled in the quiet town of Barahona is the tropical lodge of Casa Bonita. A member of Small Luxury Hotels, this 12 room little oasis beckons guest to relax, enjoy nature and interact with its local culture. Prohotel International was hired to market and manage this property. Prohotel assisted the architects to implement an outdoor relaxing spa and review plans to incorporate additional suites. Prohotel worked with the hotel to upgrade the in room amenities, the restaurant and stream line its operations.

Esencia was created after seeing the demand for family oriented upscale properties in the area. The concept of Esencia is to celebrate the essence of life. Esencia uses all of its local elements to enhance guest stay. Once the home of an Italian Duchess, Esencia now features 29 rooms, to include several private houses, with full size pools, kitchens, media room and option of full service staff to include a private chef and butler.

Esencia has been featured in Food & Wine, New York Times and Luxury Spa Finder among other articles. Esencia opened with 50% occupancy.

After the great following that was had from Ikal del Mar in the Riviera Maya, we decided to take the brand to Argentina and begin work on a spectacular wine lodge, while simultaneously producing premium wines that carry through the same standard of excellence that is demanded from our properties.
